Paco Garcia was distinguished for his defense of local products during the presentation of the yearbook “Quién es Quién en la gastronomía de Málaga 2017” by Diario Sur. During the presentation, our director recalled “those who are, who have been and who will come, who have made the restaurant El Lago an example of a Km.0. kitchen philosophy”
The recognition of Paco García took place in a ceremony attended by more than 200 people, including Michelin Stars of the province of Málaga, distributors, the main F&B representatives of the region, wineries and authorities, such as the mayor of Marbella, José Bernal.
The restaurant El Lago de Marbella is the main driver of the cuisine of proximity in Andalusia. 75 percent of the products used in its menu are Andalusian, the vast majority of Málaga.
The work of El Lago, since it joined the Slow Food movement in 2011, and its constant collaboration with local producers, has also introduced local products in high gastronomy, such as Chivo Payoyo.
