Gastronomic adventure – autumn & winter

A year ago, El Lago Restaurant, located in Elviria Hills, had the idea of ​​opening the door to its kitchen to guests staying in suites and studios so they could prepare some of the dishes from the night menu with the chef Diego del Río. This idea is complemented by a wine tasting before, by the restaurant manager and sommelier, Paco Garcia. The initiative was really enjoyed and had am enormous success, especially for couples looking for a special gift.

In the kitchen is created such a complicity between the customers and teh chef that finally theu are asking Diego del Río for advice and culinary guidance. “The experience of cooking in a restaurant with a Michelin star for one night is unique and customers are delighted,” said Paco Garcia, Director of the restaurant El Lago of Marbella. In the end, Chef Diego del Río, gives to the customer the aprons they have used and a copy of the recipes they have cooked.

Customers arrive at the restaurant starting at 6 pm. Diego del Río welcomes them, reveals what to do and delivers the apons with the Logo of El Lago. In the kitchen they are told what dishes they will cook and all ingredients are presented, than Diego del Río explains the process and invites to participate in its realization, as instructed by the chef and his team. The two dishes that are prepared by the customers currently include field egg cream stew, pig’s trotters, mint and crusty bread, more semi trap tuna with pine nuts garlic soup, wakame, snow peas and sesame.

Then they go to the bar area where the director, Paco Garcia, presents the wines that accompany the meal by tasting and explaining. Diners have the opportunity to appreciate in advance all the aromas and nuances of wine to enjoy them and the pairings for the evening dining.

The gastrnomic class ends at approximately eight o’clock, so that customers can rest and prepare themselves at their accommodation for the Dinner of the night.

An unforgettable gift, very tasty and affordable

The Gastronomic Getaway of Restaurant El Lago Fall-Winter includes:
• tasting menu paired with wine at night.
• Presentation of two of the dishes including prior preparation in the afternoon with the chef Diego de Río and wine tasting with director Paco Garcia.
• Accommodation in suites or studios of the golf course next to the restaurant.
• Two aprons with the Logo of El Lago and written copy of the recipes which are cooked.

The price of the Gourmet Getaway is 145 euros per person with accommodation in a suite and 125 € in a studio.
